Our Story
Jamal and Nick started J5 Garage in 2026. Jamal is a qualified mechanic, has been in the industry since 2013 and owned and wrenched on many MX5s.
Nick has had a diverse career so far ranging from DJ/Producer, Exercise Physiologist, Photographer and a few other things along the way.
Jamal helped Nick build his 1996 BRG Mx5 out of his home garage over a summer. It was a vvt + 6sp + turbo conversion running on a Haltech ecu. The car went from a quick engine swap to somewhat of a mini restoration project. Little did they know that this project was the first of many, that naturally led to the purchase of our workshop in Molendinar and thus the start of J5 Garage.
